Tracking The QB Prospects

Now that the win streak is over, as well as the talk about going 9-7 and slipping into the playoffs, we can go back to the business of thinking about next year! Seriously, did any sensible fan really think the Dolphins would win out or that Matt Moore could be “The Guy”? Moore is a good back up and has shown that he is better than Chad Henne. So I would be perfectly OK with him holding the fort down until our new rookie QB is ready to go. Who might that be? Well, here are how the prospects fared on Saturday.

Landry Jones had a “Henne” type day as he was 22 of 43 for 256 yards with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions in Oklahoma’s 26-6 win over Iowa State.

Robert Griffin III was 7 of 11 for 106 yards, 1 touchdown, no interceptions and he rushed for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns before leaving the game in the second half with a head injury in Baylor’s 66-42 win over Texas Tech.

USC’s Matt Barkley had another outstanding game. He was 35 of 42 for 422 yards, 6 touchdowns and no picks as USC crushed UCLA 50-0.

And just for kicks, future Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck had a good day against Notre Dame. Luck was 20 of 30 for 233 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 pick as Stanford beat the Fighting Irish 28-14.
