Any Dolphins fans still upset with the Vontae Davis trade?

I want my Grandma!!
Let's go back a little less than a month and I remember many of you Dolphins fans who were outraged when the team traded Vontae Davis. Uh, you can sit down and stay quiet now. Incase you haven't noticed Vontae Davis has been downright terrible in Indy through 2 games. Well, how bad could it be you ask? It's really bad. As in he has been targeted 11 times and 10 of those times he has given up a completion. He has given up 2 TD's and 143 yards. Oh, and opposing quarterbacks (Ponder and Cutler) have a perfect 158.3 QB rating throwing against him. I don't have a crystal ball and know what Jeff Ireland's fate is in Miami past this year, but when it is all said and done the Vontae Davis trade will be Jeff Ireland's finest moment as a general manager.

  1. I will confess, I always was a VD fan and didnt want to see him go. Obviously I have mixed feelings about seeing him struggle. I dont like it because I like(d) him, but I dont mind when i think of the 2nd draft pick we get for him.

However, the final chapter on this has hardly been written. It takes time for a DB to mold into a new defensive scheme/team. Well, sure you can look at completions against him and say, 'no matter, he gets torched,' to which I reply, "maybe, maybe not, how do we know in all cases he didnt think the coverage was supposed to be different (say safety help that didn't some or the like)."

If we see this sort of results passed game 8, then I'll concede!

  2. Jeff Ireland's finest moment was getting two #3's for Brandon Marshall. Think of that every time he drops a touchdown pass. I just waiting for him to throw his good buddy, Jay Cutler, under the bus. The Dolphins couldn't develop any other receivers the last two years because Marshall would throw a tantrum whenever he didn't get the football thrown his way. Vontae presented a different problem. Good riddence to both of them.
