Battle of the kickers

Dan Carpenter won't go down without a fight. One of the key position battles of Dolphins camp is that of the kicker between Dan Carpenter and Caleb Sturgis. Carpenter, whom many believe will be cut or traded by the end of camp as he is in the final year of his contract and is due roughly $2.7 million this season, started practice by going a perfect 10 for 10 highlighted by two field goals for 49 yards. Sturgis, who is set to make $405k and would be a saving of about $2 million if he wins the position, made a highlight for himself as well as he nailed a 50 yard kick.
