Dolphins showing interest in Tight End Jermichael Finley

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald is reporting the Miami Dolphins have had conversations with the agent of free agent TE Jermichael Finley. Finley is having another X-Ray and MRI done on his injured neck and will hopefully be medically cleared to come back and play in the NFL in 2014. If he is cleared Miami is one of the teams interested. Finley did visit with Seattle earlier this offseason.

To me adding another pass catching tight end is a must for the Fins. Michael Egnew's time is probably over in Miami and Dion Sims is a nice blocker but is very raw and not an offensive weapon that will help in the Dolphins passing game this upcoming season. The Dolphins need another receiving threat TE to pair with Clay in the worst way. A healthy Finley fits the bill but the big key is his health. If healthy and at nothing more than the vet minimum it would be a good value signing for Miami. Another 1 year "show me" deal to a guy who has done a lot in this league and is looking for that 2nd act of his career.
