Knowshon Moreno May Need Knee Surgery

New Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno is probably going to need arthroscopic knee surgery on his "good knee." His bad knee is the one he suffered a torn ACL on back in 2011 and that is currently fine. At this point the damage seems minor and this isn't a major injury. In fact Moreno should be back in time for the start of training camp if all goes well.

Needless to say though this news isn't good as Moreno's start in Miami has been anything but good. He came in overweight, has been outplayed in OTA's by Lamar Miller, and now this knee issue. Moreno is on a very cheap one year deal so if things don't turn around Miami could release him prior to the season and have very little financial loss. If this injury isn't minor and some more issues are there putting Moreno on PUP or a more drastic possibility could even be putting him on IR, but I am sure Moreno wouldn't be very happy with that.

One also has to wonder if the Dolphins doctors and medical staff, who have a history of being bad, missed something on Moreno and the Fins unknowingly bought damaged goods in Moreno this offseason. Needless to say, for those of you who thought Daniel Thomas was done in Miami, think again. If Moreno misses a significant amount of time and this injury is more serious than thought, Thomas would be the leader to back-up Lamar Miller.
