Dolphins sign QB Brady Quinn; Cut Pat Devlin

Jeff Darlington is reporting the Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback Brady Quinn. This move is interesting on a lot of levels going forward. You must initially think that Matt Moore and Pat Devlin are more seriously injured than what is being let on. Also, Matt Moore is making $4 million this season and letting him go prior to Week 1 will open up some cap space for Miami to spend elsewhere to pick up a linebacker or tight end possibly. Or, Quinn was signed to get Moore to re-do his deal and take a pay-cut. He is possibly being used as a form of leverage by Dennis Hickey. Also, Moore is a bad practice player and new Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor is big on how players perform in practice, so maybe Moore is in his dog-house. To me Quinn wasn't brought in to be a 3rd string QB, he is here to compete with Matt Moore.

UPDATE: At 9:30pm the Miami Dolphins released quarterback Pat Devlin
