Clay signs with Bills; Fins have 5 days to match

Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News is reporting that Charles Clay has signed with the Buffalo Bills for 5 years $38 million with $20 million guaranteed with $24.5 million given to Clay over the first two years. The Dolphins now have five days to match this offer or else Clay will become a part of the Buffalo Bills.

To me that is Top 5 Tight End money and Charles Clay is not a Top 5 tight end in this league, I think in fact it would make him the 4th highest paid Tight End in the NFL.To me Buffalo overpaid by alot and Clay is a nice player but not an elite tight end.

I don't know what Miami will do but if it were me in charge I would let Clay walk, pick up the extra $7 mill in cap space and move on. Miami can address a lot of other areas with that extra $7 million in cap space and then look for another tight end in the draft if need be. But with Cameron and Sims, I'm not sure Miami needs another Tight End honestly.

  1. Pack your thermals Charley. You're gonna need them. And yeah, I agree Mike. I think Miami will be fine with Cam and Sims as long as Cam can stay healthy.
