Round 1 recap, what to expect round 2

Everyone breathing again? Many of us Dolphins fans, were watching a huge developing story. As expected the top 2 WR were taken. Cooper lands with The a Raiders and Kevin White to the Bears. The complexion changed at 10, as front office favorite, Todd Gurley, was selected by the Rams? What, really? Some of us May have been disappointed hearing that name called. The Viking selected Waynes and it came to the Browns. My number one target (as seen in previous articles), Parker sat a top of BPA and the needy Browns seemed ready to pounce. As the clock ticked, I started gauging the thought of  reaching for Perriman or drafting Kevin Johnson. The Browns selected the top DT in the draft and a collective sigh of relief and buzz hit all of us. After the Saints selected Peat, Parker stared the Dolphins brass in the face. As the clock wound down to under 30 seconds, I pondered that Miami may have traded the pick. WE DIDNT AND LANDED OUR GUY. Parker instantly gives Ryan Tannehill a big bodied WR with a ridiculous catch radius. There should be no excuses now that the Dolphins have 5 very capable WR on the roster. Landry, Parker, Jennings, Stills and Cameron provide  some serious weapons. I can't  wait to see how this progresses offensively.

Looking forward to day 2, there are still many holes to fill. In an ideal situation, Tannebaum will look to move back in round two in my opinion. May be able to pick up a swap of second rounders and maybe a 4th in the process. If Miami stays put, here are the names to look for:

1. Denzel Perryman- ILB-?will Miami land their guy again? Perryman is a hometown product that can play side line to side line. Gruden felt he could be a top 10 player in this draft. He would be a monster behind Suh.

2. Benardrick McKinney-  ILB- a great three down backer who played against elite competition. His knock is getting pushed around at the line of scrimmage and can lose the RB in play action and mis direction.

3. Eric Rowe- CB- would be a dream of he fell to Miami. He would add depth and competition to start opposite of Grimes.

4. Ali Marpet- OG- a mauling guard and a position of need. I, like many of you, would prefer to see Dallas Thomas cut and not penciled in as a starter at guard. Marpet will transform our OL and provide a great work ethic and a mean streak on the field

5. Gain more assets with trade down- this seems to be a logical scenario with Miami trying to build the middle of their top heavy roster. Value is unknown on what they could get back but the possibility of jumping back into the third round while hanging on to a late second would be a huge win for the front office.

The draft continues at 7:00 pm tonight and we will have all the coverage for you here, at Dolphinstalk.com.
