Former Dolphins DC Bill Arnsparger Passes Away at 88

Bill Arnsparger passed away today at the age of 88. Arnsparger came to the Dolphins from Baltimore with Don Shula in 1970 and put together the Dolphins "no name" defense that helped Miami to 3 straight Super Bowls, 2 Super Bowl wins as well as the undefeated 1972 season. Arnsparger left Miami to become the head coach of the New York Giants after the 1973 season.
Arnsparger returned to the Dolphins after his unsuccessful stint as head coach with the Giants in 1976 and was with Miami through the 1983 season. He was instrumental in putting together the "Killer B's" defense that helped Miami to Super Bowl 17, a 27-17 loss to the Redskins.
Arnsparger left Miami for good after the 1983 season to become the head coach at LSU.
