The Jarvis Landry Conundrum

Jarvis Landry it appears that the team is at crossroads, as it pertains to their best offensive weapon. I, as a die-hard Dol-Fan, am at the same crossroads with Landry. Every time I get to thinking about whether to re-sign him, I can easily be convinced to go either way.
The argument For Re-Signing Jarvis Landry: His numbers speak for itself. They are as follows: 112 receptions, 987 yards, and 9 touchdowns. You really cannot ask for much more out of your Number 1 wideout. Let's take a look examine Miami's 2 other top wide receivers (Kenny Stills & DeVante Parker,) and their numbers, 115 receptions, 1517 yards, 7 touchdowns. If you take Landry out of the equation, you are losing a heck of a lot of your production from the wide receiver position. Outside of the numbers, he is the emotional leader of, not only the offensive side of the ball but the entire team. He plays the game with raw emotion and plays with a chip on his shoulder at all times. If we lose him, it will be incredibly difficult to replace that. Finally, his durability is incredible. Per ESPN, in his 4 seasons with the Dolphins, he has appeared in all 64 regular season games. In 2018, finding a guy to be as durable as he is, is incredibly difficult.

The argument for not Re-Signing Jarvis Landry: Money. When I think of what the contract negotiations are like between Landry's camp and the organization, I believe it is like when Cuba Gooding Jr. was on the phone with his agent. The only difference is that he is going to want a lot more money than what the Cardinals ended up paying Rod Tidwell. It is no surprise that Landry wants to get paid, and Miami is not sure that they want to commit that type of big money to their wide receiver. It will take north of a 4 year/ $50 million type deal with more than $28 million guaranteed. The second reason that you can look at for a potential reason to move on from Jarvis is his emotional stability through the course of a season. Per Adam Gase's comments about Landry's actions in the last game of the season, he was not too happy about what took place. He even went as far as to call Landry's actions "embarrassing." Adam Gase is still in the process of implementing his system, and if you do not fit into that system with your actions and attitude, you will be shown the door.
Gun to my head, I would re-sign Jarvis Landry. I know it is a lot of money, but I do not think we can afford to lose this guy. He shows up, week in and week out, and he has the type of talent that most teams would die to get their hands on. What say you, Dolphins fans?
